More
than 400 ancient Russian icons evoke the
world of Orthodox sacred art from the
XIII to the XX century.
The collection is regarded as one of the
most important in the West for its chronological
variety, its narrative themes, and the
presence of some true masterpieces. A
selection of 130 icons is permanently
exhibited in the Galleries of Leoni Montanari
Palace; the others are preserved in a
special warehouse and are available to
scholars and art-lovers. |
